Trials Season 3 — Ranks, Star Thresholds & The Torque Outfit
Season 3 of Arc Raiders' competitive Trials mode is live. Here's everything you need to know about earning stars, climbing ranks, and securing The Torque exclusive cosmetic before April 29.
What Are Trials?
Trials is Arc Raiders' competitive weekly event where Raiders compete for rank and exclusive cosmetics. Each week, you're placed in a pool of 100 Raiders and given a series of specific tasks to complete during raids. How many stars you earn determines whether you climb, stay, or fall back in rank.
Season 3 Ranks
Season 3 has three competitive ranks. You start at Rookie II and must earn enough stars to advance. Fail to contribute enough points each week and you risk being demoted back into the rank-and-file rookies.
Rookie II
Entry rank for Season 3. Accumulate 1,000 stars (1★) to qualify for promotion consideration within your weekly pool of 100 Raiders.
Daredevil
Mid-tier rank for experienced raiders. Reach 2,500 stars (2★) to push into top competition — and unlock an alternate Torque colorway.
Hotshot
The elite rank. Reach 4,000 stars (3★) for the highest Torque colorway variant and Hotshot-exclusive account recognition.

Season 3 Exclusive Reward — The Torque Outfit
The headline reward for Trials Season 3 is The Torque, an exclusive full outfit. The base version is earned at 1★ (Rookie II threshold). Pushing further into Daredevil and Hotshot ranks unlocks additional alternative colorways and outfit variants — all versions are exclusive to Season 3 and cannot be obtained once the season ends April 29.
Exclusive Season 3 cosmetic. Three color variants tied to rank (Rookie II, Daredevil, Hotshot).
Earned on successful extraction while completing trial tasks — rewarded per raid.
How Weekly Tasks Work
Each week you receive a series of tasks assigned by the people of Speranza. Complete them within a single successful raid to earn stars. Tasks rotate weekly and include:
Locate and destroy a specified type of ARC unit in the required quantity during a single raid.
Gather specific medicinal plants found in the Rustbelt — map knowledge is key here.
Access and download valuable data from pre-collapse technology terminals found in the field.
Promotion & Demotion
Each week you're placed in a pool of 100 Raiders at your current rank. Performance within your pool determines promotion, staying, or demotion:
Promotion
Rank highly within your pool of 100 by hitting or exceeding the threshold for the next rank. Top performers advance to Daredevil or Hotshot.
Stay
Contribute enough stars to remain at your current rank. Mid-table performance keeps you where you are for the following week.
Demotion
Fail to earn sufficient stars and you'll be demoted back into the rank-and-file rookies — you'll need to climb again the following week.
Tips for Season 3
- Check your weekly tasks before loading in — knowing what to collect or kill lets you plan your route and loadout.
- Prioritize extraction over stars — dying with 3,500 accumulated points gives you nothing. A clean 1,000-point extract beats a failed 4,000-point run.
- Use the ARCs database to plan culling tasks — knowing ARC spawn locations and weaknesses saves time during high-pressure raids.
- Know your maps — plant and data terminal locations are fixed, so memorizing them gives a major edge for collection tasks.
- Bring appropriate weapons — culling tasks will specify ARC types, so equip accordingly (e.g., high fire rate for Comets, Lure Grenades for Fireflies).
