Patch 1.20.0 — Il Toro Nerf, Rawhide Outfit & Bug Fixes

The Il Toro shotgun takes a significant hit across multiple stats — fire rate, pellet damage, dispersion, and reload time all reduced. Embark wants positioning and timing to matter more with high-damage shotguns. New Rawhide cosmetic, three bug fixes, and an Energy Clips economy adjustment round out the patch.

Il Toro — Shotgun

Nerfed

The Il Toro has been one of the most dominant close-range weapons in the game, and Embark is pulling back on its raw power to reward smarter play. From the patch notes:

"Fire-rate and reload time have been reduced, which will make it more important to fully utilize positioning, cover, and timing."

Every key stat has been reduced — the intent is clear: the Il Toro will still hit hard, but you'll need to make each shot count and plan your spacing accordingly.

Pellet Damage 7.5 → 7 ▼ Reduced
Base Fire-Rate 43 → 38 ▼ Reduced
Base Dispersion 4.5 → 6 ▼ Less Accurate
Total Reload Time 4.3s → 5.7s ▼ Slower
↳ Looping Reload Entry 0.8s → 1s ▼ Slower
↳ Looping Reload Time 0.5s → 0.7s ▼ Slower
Damage Loss from Falloff 40% → 50% ▼ More Falloff

The reload time increase (+1.4s total) is the most impactful change in practice. Missing a shot now carries a much heavier penalty, which should significantly reduce the Il Toro's effectiveness when used aggressively without regard for positioning.

New Content

Rawhide Outfit

A new cosmetic outfit — the Rawhide — has been added to the game. No further details were provided in the patch notes on how to obtain it.

Two New Haircuts

Two new character haircut options have been added for Raider customization.

Bug Fixes

Comet & Fireball Audio Fixed

Fixed persistent audio that would continue playing from destroyed Comets and Fireballs. This was an auditory stray that could disorient players after the ARC machines were eliminated.

Dam CAZ Wall Push Fixed

Fixed players being pushed through walls in the Dam Controlled Access Zone. This could result in players reaching unintended areas or being instantly killed by the geometry.

Spaceport Collision Fixes

Fixed missing collision near the east elevator and under pipes on the Spaceport map. Players could previously fall through or clip into these areas.

Economy Adjustment

Energy Clips Sell Price

Rebalanced

The sell price of Energy Clips has been drastically reduced to normalize crafting profitability. This affects players who were using Energy Clips as a lucrative sell item after crafting them.

Energy Clips Sell Price 1,000 → 200 coins ▼ 80% Reduction

Embark's intent is to bring Energy Clips in line with the expected profit margin from crafting, preventing them from being an outsized source of coins relative to other crafted items.
