Firefly — Aerial Unit

A flying ARC more tenacious than anything previously in the air. The Firefly doesn't patrol — it hunts.

Type Aerial
Armor Armored
Threat High
Introduced Patch 1.17.0
Weak Point

Yellow gas tank (fuel storage) — a tricky shot but highly effective

Behavior

  • More tenacious than the Wasp or Hornet — actively pursues rather than patrols
  • Hunts Raiders into corners, denying safe positions
  • Unleashes flame attacks from above
  • Often holds back initially, then dives to flush players out of cover

How to Fight It

  • Don't run — the Firefly will chase you down. You must fight or find substantial indoor cover
  • Target the yellow gas tank on its underside for maximum damage
  • Use Lure Grenades to bait it away from your position or your squad
  • Photoelectric Cloak renders you temporarily invisible to it, creating an opportunity to reposition or escape
  • Indoor cover breaks its line of sight more effectively than open terrain

Comet — Ground Unit

A rolling sphere of explosives that comes in fast and loud. The Comet's armor isn't invincible — you just need to put enough rounds into it first.

Type Ground
Armor Armored
Threat High
Introduced Patch 1.17.0
Weak Points

Inner machinery when armor opens under fire. Side armor plating. Front weak spot if you hold ground during its charge.

Behavior

  • Comes in all guns blazing — fast and aggressive on approach
  • Single explosive detonation with a broad blast radius
  • Positions strategically to catch multiple squad members at once
  • Armor opens when taking sustained fire, exposing internal components

How to Fight It

  • Use automatic weapons with a high fire rate — heavy, slow weapons are less effective against it
  • Keep shooting to force the armor open, then switch focus to the exposed inner machinery
  • The side armor plating is also susceptible to damage if you can flank
  • If you hold your ground during its charge, you can land shots on the front weak spot
  • Watch your squad's spread — it positions to hit multiple players with one detonation

Recommended Weapons & Counters

vs. Firefly

  • Use Any weapon accurate enough to hit the yellow gas tank
  • Use Lure Grenades to redirect it away from your squad
  • Use Photoelectric Cloak to break its targeting temporarily
  • Note Indoor cover breaks line of sight more reliably than open terrain
  • Avoid Running — it will chase you down regardless

vs. Comet

  • Use High fire rate automatic weapons (Bobcat, Bettina, Torrente)
  • Use Sustained fire to force the armor open, then hit exposed internals
  • Note Flanking exposes the more vulnerable side armor plating
  • Note Spread your squad — don't cluster, it positions for multi-hit detonations
  • Avoid Heavy, slow-firing weapons — they're less effective against its armor
